About Deck Awnings
Get real shade on your deck without building a permanent roof. Awntech retractable deck awnings extend out over your deck when you want shade and roll back in when you don't. Choose manual crank or motorized operation in widths from 8 to 24 ft, with more than 40 fabric colors to match your home.
Manual or motorized
Manual deck awnings use a simple crank handle, with no wiring needed. Motorized deck awnings run on a 110V motor with a remote, and you can add a wireless wind sensor that pulls the awning in automatically when the wind picks up. That is a big deal on an open, elevated deck.
Mounting on a deck
Most deck awnings mount to the wall of the house above the deck. If there is not enough wall space above your door, roof and soffit brackets let you mount under the eave or on the roof line instead.
Built for the outdoors
The canopy is 100 percent solution-dyed acrylic that resists fading, mildew, and water, on an aluminum and steel frame with stainless steel hardware. Every awning ships fully assembled, installs in 1 to 2 hours with two people, and comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
Deck awning FAQs
How far out does a deck awning extend?
Projections range from 6.5 ft to 10 ft, with larger projections available on select models. Measure from the wall to the edge of the area you want shaded.
Can I leave my deck awning out in the rain?
Light rain is fine, but we recommend retracting it in heavy rain or wind. A wind sensor on a motorized model handles this for you.
Which deck awning is best?
For most decks, the Maui® is a great all-around choice. For larger or more exposed decks, the heavy-duty Destin® or the full cassette Key West® give you extra strength and protection.
